It is important to note that in the South
African context all emergency medical services are expected to comply with a
minimum standard of registrations set by statutory governing bodies aimed at
ensuring minimum standards of care. Both I.C.E. Medical Rescue and My Medic not
only meet but constantly exceed these minimum registration requirements persistently
receiving clear audit scores from the entities who accredit our system.
I.C.E. Medical Rescue subscribe to the following non-exhaustive list of regulatory bodies:
- Board of Healthcare Funders (all medical aids) registered as Advance Life Support Service.
- The Health Professions Council of South Africa (guidelines and code of practice compliant).
- South African Rugby and Football Union / Bok-Smart © accredited.
- Relevant / adequate public liability insurance cover is maintained.
- Department of Transportation.
- Department of labour.
- Department of health.
